KUALA LUMPUR, September 22 – Sixteen ministers are expected to close debate on the motion of thanks for the royal speech on behalf of their respective ministries in Parliament today, as the session ended yesterday.
According to the order of Dewan Rakyat’s meeting, the liquidation will be, among others, by the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia.
Meanwhile, during the oral question-and-answer session, issues to be raised will include the review of the minimum wage, cases of food and halal status violations, and youth employment during the Covid-19 pandemic.
There will also be a question from Nurul Izzah Anwar (PH-Permatang Pauh) to the Minister of Human Resources on the government’s commitment, as well as the efforts being made regarding the minimum wage review.
Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan (BN-Pontian) will ask the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Affairs a question about the number of cases recorded for violation of the status of food and halal products imported from abroad, as well as domestic products.
He also wanted to know what steps the department was taking to address the issues.
The meeting of the fourth session of the 14th legislature is the first under the government headed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Dewan Rakyat’s current session will last 17 days until October 12. – Bernama
