Significant incidents reported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department for the week ending August 9, 2021:

Two Tomahawk residences and a resident of Merrill said they had received letters from the Revenue Department indicating that someone had used their name and Social Security number to attempt to secure a loan for a small business. Neither person applied for a loan nor lost any money due to the attempted scam.

A worker for MJ Electric reported that 324 feet of electrical wire was stolen from a job site where a power line was being built on Airport Rd on Tuesday morning. Anyone with information regarding this theft is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office or can contact Crime Stoppers using the P3 app or by calling 715-536-3726.

A 53-year-old man from Merrill has been arrested on domestic disorderly conduct, four counts of felony bail and misdemeanor bail following an incident in the town of Pine River on Tuesday morning.

A 19-year-old senior man, WI was arrested on a disorderly driving charge following an incident in the town of Merrill on Sunday evening.

Three people reported hitting a deer last week and one person reported hitting a bear.
