COLUMBUS — Crestview is the only football team in the region to change divisions this fall.
The Rebels move to Division VI this season, where they will join Columbiana, East Palestine, United and Valley Christian.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced the new regional football playoff assignments on Monday. The OHSAA Board of Directors approved the new divisions over the past week.
OHSAA uses enrollment data provided by the Ohio Department of Education to determine each school’s base enrollment for boys’ and girls’ sports, which will be used for the 2022-23 and 2023 school years. -24. Football teams are divided into seven divisions based on registrations. Each of the seven divisions is divided into four regions, with the top 16 teams from each region in the final computer rankings advancing to the state playoffs on October 28-29.
Springfield and Western Reserve, both members of the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference, both move to Division VII this fall. Springfield has been to the Division VI semifinals for the past three years with Beau Brungard at quarterback.
The 2022 football season opens with the first games on Thursday August 18.
